PrEP is an oral medication to prevent the transmission of HIV from unprotected sex before the potential exposure.

There are two types of PrEP available in Canada

How to Take PrEP

One Pill Everyday

Take one pill at the same time each day to ensure the best protection.

PrEP on Demand (2-1-1)

Take two pills 2-24 hours before sex.

Then take one pill 24 hours after the first dose.
